Breaking News – Nashville Bike Week

Breaking News – Nashville Bike Week

The past week has been a whirlwind. A true test of patience and grit. Between preparing for Daytona Bike Week, getting ready for the events we are hosting during Daytona, and now being flooded with emails, messages and comments from people who listened to the Wide Open Radio interview last week featuring Mike Axle and are concerned, upset and worried about Nashville Bike Week… we’ve had our hands full. I felt the need to stop what I was working on tonight and update everyone on some things that unfolded today regarding Nashville Bike Week. I had a one on one phone call with Mike Axle, the man behind Nashville Bike Week, that left me feeling differently than I’ve felt since the 1st day I heard about this motorcycle rally. First let me back up and address today’s Facebook Live broadcast on the Nashville Bike Week page. Don’t bother looking for it. It is no longer available. Here are my Cliff’s Notes, for those who missed it: The Negative – The video left much to be desired and made some people even angrier than before. People were expecting a live press conference from the new venue, showing the grounds and making the event ‘real’ again. That’s not what they got. They got Mike Axle, indoors at a non-disclosed location. The Positive – Mr. Axle was relaxed and uncoiled. He came across less ready to strike. His demeanor was much more positive and he was focused on how to move forward. Most noticeably, there was almost no profanity – which was in stark contrast to earlier appearances. I have no information on why the video was later...

St. Pete Beach BikeFest – November 15-19, 2017

St. Pete Beach BikeFest – November 15-19, 2017

Are you tired of walking rows and rows of motorcycle rally vendors who carry the same parts, accessories, apparel and food? Bored with the same shows and entertainment? Not interested in riding the same planned routes year after year?  We have the answer to your Bike Rally Blues… Introducing: St. Pete Beach BikeFest – November 15-19, 2017 – Presented by Bert’s Barracuda & Bert’s Black Widow Harley Davidson   We met with Keith Overton, President of TradeWinds Island Resorts in St. Pete Beach Florida in October to discuss his dreams of hosting a motorcycle event that will wake up the motorcycle community and put an end to the monotonous trends to which most motorcycle rallies have fallen victim. “I get so tired of going to rallies and seeing the same vendors, row after row… hearing the same bands night after night… riding the same routes and hanging out at the same bars, year after year. I want to do something new. Something different. Something exciting!” – Keith Overton, TradeWinds Island Resorts – St. Pete Beach, FL The idea quickly evolved from a “bike night” style event to a full-blown motorcycle rally. The Hotelier, who is also an avid motorcyclist – complete with his own highly customized Harley Davidson – moved quickly; selecting his A-Team, scheduling planning meetings and securing a presenting sponsor: Bert’s Barracuda & Bert’s Black Widow Harley Davidson. St. Pete Beach BikeFest will be unique in many ways – but we will start with the location: PARADISE, aka St. Pete Beach, Florida. This beautiful stretch of white, sandy beaches and warm turquoise water will be “Home Base” for the rally – with a concert stage featuring soon-to-be-named...
For Immediate Release: Wide Open Radio Featuring Nate Hudson

For Immediate Release: Wide Open Radio Featuring Nate Hudson

Wide Open Radio Motorcycle Talk Radio Show     Nate Hudson – Ride For Awareness & Craig Collins – Mountain Creek Harley Davidson on Wide Open Radio A Time For Work And A Time For Play   WORLD WIDE WEB, Thursday May 21, 2015 7PM Central – We can all agree that owning and riding a motorcycle is a lifestyle. It is a lifestyle that has many different variations. Some people ride because it is freeing and they love the open road. Others ride because they love to customize their bikes. Two things that are common to all motorcyclists is that we all love to show off our bikes and we are all at risk when we ride.   Tonight on Wide Open Radio, we talk with Nate Hudson who has teamed up with Allstate Insurance on a mission to make the roads a safer place for motorcyclists. On May 12th 2015, Allstate launched the first-ever “Ride for Awareness”. Hudson has over 20 years of riding experience, and is also co-owner of the British-American Motorcycle Club, a service shop and riding club with an emphasis on vintage and custom bikes. Allstate will be sending Nate Hudson to all 50 state capitols in 111 days – a trip that will cover more than 17,000 miles! Hudson will be making the journey on a 2015 Indian Roadmaster customized for Allstate. The bike is equipped for long-distance riding and has a strong engine capable of making the 17,000 mile trek. Tune in to the show to find out what Nate and Allstate will be proposing to the DMVs in their effort to...
